This product is specifically tailored for the Agriculture sector and is currently jointly implemented by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in collaboration with the management of SAPE Farm. The initiative is designed to support informed decision-making in crop planning, enhance preparedness for climate variability, and promote adaptive farming practices that contribute to sustainable agricultural development and food security.
The product provides rainfall status overview for the last 12 months to support monitoring of localized drought conditions at SAPE Farm, together with rainfall outlooks on a fortnightly, monthly, and seasonal basis. The Rainfall extremes are presented in dialer form to enhance the understanding of technical terminology used to describe the different categories of extreme rainfall among farm operators and stakeholders.
